Labor Day Weekend

September 1, 2012
What... September already! We started the new month traveling to Ludington. Irish Attitude headed to Ludington on some very calm water, almost like glass! We stayed close to shore to view the dunes. The lake starts off shallow at the beach, dropping quickly to 30 ft. We were in about 160 foot range. It was a relaxing ride with only one turn on the chart plotter. Ludington is one of our favorite ports. We usually opt to stay at the municipal marina. It is close to the beach and town. The marinas in Ludington were close to full. One last hurrah before school begins. The fishermen had us out numbered 4 to 1! Mike got a chance to reacquaint his taste buds with the Cheddar Ale soup at the James Port Brewing Company. A favorite of his.

Even dogs enjoy cruising
Jen and Jared came up on Sunday and finished out the holiday weekend with us. The fixed docks did not prove to be a challenge to their black Lab, Chloe. She made the jump into the boat with no problems. Jen and Jared were dog sitting their niece's dog. Maya weighed all of 6 lbs. She is a 'Morky', a toy Maltese/Yorkie mix. After meeting Maya, we are actually considering a small dog, at least this breed!  We took a short boat ride to show Jared the Lake MI coast line from the water. It is always good to see you guys.
We are enjoying our last night in Ludington and plan to head out for Grand Haven tomorrow.
P.S. To all my friends at St. Louis Public Schools, Good luck on the new school year. Your service is greatly appreciated. (If you should see any any grammatical/spelling errors.... I will say what Mr. Wing always said, "I just put them in to see if you were paying attention!" God bless you Keith!)
